AT 101 SURVIVOR DR. OLIVIA HOOKER STILL FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE

One of the GREAT honors of my life has been representing, working closely with, and getting to know Dr. Olivia Hooker and all the other survivors of the 1921 Greenwood Massacre.  Dr.Hooker was six years old when her family’s home and business was damaged during the 1921 Greenwood Massacre.  She later went on to become  the first black woman to enlist in the U.S. Coast Guard. Hooker also  earned a PH.D, and become a child psychologistand professor at Fordham University in New York.
