The True Measure of Education

With so much emphasis on testing these days, we must make sure we remember that  the mere parting and memorization of information is NOT education. The true measure of a proper and meaningful education is not high ACTs, fancy degrees, impressive certificates, or even big titles. The true measure of education is whether it teaches one  to have the ability to critically think, plan, and take care of themselves, families, and communities, and overcome  the unpredictable daily life tests!

By the way, I learned this from the smartest person I  have ever met: My “uneducated” grandma who had to drop out of school to work after the 6th grade, but raised a family, integrated a neighborhood, feed a city, and was a successful business women all without a fancy degree, impressive certificate, or a big title.
