The city council of a Houston suburb has voted to ban children from the city if they are in the United States illegally.
The League City council voted 6-2 to adopt the resolution Tuesday night. The resolution refuses any federal request to set up detention or processing centers in the community, citing unspecified “health concerns.”
The city of more than 90,000 residents is situated 25 miles southeast of Houston.
