Senate Republicans Block Attempts to Override Hobby Lobby Birth Control Decision

Source: Law360 In an expected move, U.S. Senate Republicans stopped Democrats’ legislative attempt to override the U.S. Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.   Senate Democrats were pushing a bill dubbed called the Protect Women’s Health From Corporate Interference Act of 2014, but dubbed by some as  “NOT MY BOSS’ BUSINESS ACT.”  The bill would have reversed the Hobby Lobby decision that relieved closely held private corporations from offering certain types of birth control due to religious objections.  In a 56-43 vote that fell short of the 60 votes needed to move the legislation forward.
