Should Colorado Shooter James Holmes’ Excessive Gun Purchases Caused Red Flags?

How can a civilian  purchase 4 guns (including an AR-15 Assault Rifle), 6000 rounds of ammo, a specialized drum magazine capable of holding 100 bullets at a time, bullet proof vest, bullet proof shin guards, bullet proof groin protector, and bullet proof throat protector within the last 90 days and not be red flagged by law enforcement? Especially since it is now been reported that many of James Holmes gun purchases were made on a “rush” basis.

Do I want the government tracking our every move and purchase? No! However, what possible good reason could someone need to compile such a deadly arsenal, so quickly? Further, I can’t help but wonder if instead of James Holmes, the purchaser of the above arsenal was named Jawed Muhammad would such purchases gone unnoticed?

In closing, I believe this tragic and horrific incident proves two things: 1) there should be some system implemented that alerts law enforcement to the purchase of large scale guns, ammo, and accessories, and those making those purchasers should offer some reason why they need such items; and 2) no group has a monopoly on terrorism or terrorist acts. Therefore, our laws should be applied equally towards all in an effort to keep us all safe.

Please continue to pray for the families and victims. Peace!
